    Resorts --->>> Black Sea

The Black Sea Coast stretches out for 244km / 153 miles and is the main touristic area of Romania. Here the sun shines 10-11hrs / day, there are about 24-25sunny days / month (in summer), tides are practically non-existent and the air is well-ionised, rich in marine aerosols.

All the resorts are easily accessible either by train or by bus and offer good accommodation facilities (over 125,000 beds in hotels and villas).

Today, many of the resorts have been refurbished and brought up to western standards, while the prices are still much lower than for comparable resorts in western Europe. In particular, the Bulgarian resorts have developed attractive websites to show off their facilities.

However, the beaches are not the only assets of the Romanian Black Sea Coast. The high solar radiation intensity is said to have stimulating and healing effects. The entire complex of sand, air, sun and water is a beneficial one, with major results in thalassic therapy and psalmotherapy.

The gate to all the resorts is the city of Constanta (the biggest Romanian port). Founded by the Greeks, under the name of Tomis, in the 6th century BC, Constanta is accessible by car (3.5hrs drive from Bucharest), plane, train (express trains to / from Bucharest or other cities), and ferry (182 marine miles from Bosphorus). Major touristic attractions: the Casino, the Aquarium, the Dolphinarium and the Planetarium.
